Personalised referral letters
Preparing for your NDIS plan review? Our free referral letter service can provide you with the supporting evidence you need to get meal supports included in your plan.
Free, personalised referral letters
from our in-house nutritionists
Able Foods provides a complimentary, personalised referral letter service, prepared by our Client Renewal Nutritionists.
This letter serves as supporting evidence for your NDIS plan review or change in circumstance, advocating for the inclusion of meal preparation and delivery. It explains why this support is necessary, how it assists you in achieving your health goals, and promotes greater choice and control at mealtimes.
A referral letter is particularly useful if you are seeking increased funding for meal preparation and delivery or if this support was not approved in your previous plan. While not mandatory for the NDIA, it can be a helpful supplementary document alongside allied health reports.
Referral letters help make the case for including meal supports in your plan.
Who needs a referral letter and when?
At Able Foods, our free referral letter services are offered to both current customers as well as potential clients who need help to start services with us.
For current customers, when your service agreement with Able Foods is due to end in a few months, you should be due for a Participant Check-In call from the NDIS. At this point, you may choose to have a referral letter and quote to take with you to your plan assessment.

FAQs
Can you provide nutritional advice in the referral letter consultations?
The purpose of these consultations is to get an understanding of your present circumstances as they relate to your need for NDIS-funded meal supports: We ask about your health and wellbeing, independence, and capability to prepare and cook food.
As such, we are not able to provide you with individualised nutritional advice. If you require nutritional advice, your best port of call is your dietitian, nutritionist or doctor.

Once you complete your phone consultation or written questionnaire, our team is generally able to send you your referral letter in 1-2 weeks. Please note that we prioritise those whose plan review dates are soonest.
