Our pricing

Able Foods provides health support for NDIS participants, Home Care Package recipients and also private clients. This means we provide several funding and payment options.

NDIS participant prices

Meal preparation, delivery and support are funded by the NDIS, but the cost of ingredients is not included. This is why there is a 'co-payment'. The co-pay cost is what you will pay, and NDIS payment is funded by your plan, under 'Core Supports – Daily Activities – Assistance with the cost of preparation and delivery of meals.'

Home Care Package prices

Home Care Packages (HCP) are one of the ways that older Australians can access affordable care services to get some help at home. HCP covers the cost of meal preparation, delivery and support, but not the raw ingredients, which is covered by your 'co-payment'.

Private Client prices

If you are a private paying customer you will pay both the Meal Preparation and Delivery and Ingredients prices e.g For Breakfast your total price will be $5.00 + $1.80 = $6.80

Item Rebate (Meal Preparation and Delivery) Participant Co-Payment (Ingredient Component)
Breakfast $5.30 $1.80
Snacks $2.50-$5.30 $0.50 - $1.00
Main Meals $12.40 $2.50-$3.00

Frequently Asked Questions

Other questions about pricing and making payments with Able Foods

Co-pay or ‘co-payment’ is a term that the NDIS uses to describe a portion of payments that the customer is responsible for. The NDIS only funds the service and delivery of support, so things like raw ingredients must be funded by participants themselves. This means that Able Foods meals will always have a co-payment and an NDIS funded portion.

You will be invoiced for each order that you make with Able Foods. Depending on how your plan is managed, Able Foods will invoice the NDIS portion of your service to one of the following:

  • Directly to the NDIA
  • Your plan manager

Self-managed participants will receive the NDIS invoice and a separate invoice for the copayment portion.

If at any point you would like to change who will be receiving your invoices, or your payment methods, please contact our Able Foods team and they can update the contact information for you.

Able Foods will never take payment without prior approval. Able Foods will not take a payment if there has not been an order placed or a session has not occurred (and was cancelled by 3pm, 1 business day before your appointment).

Once an order has been placed, there will be a payment processed from your account.

We must have updated/active payment information on record before you can place a food order.

Able Foods usually processes payments on Fridays, however we can arrange for processing on a different weekday that suits you. It’s also possible for you to change your payment day at a later date if necessary.
