Frequently Asked Questions

About the new menu

New meals start becoming available from 30 July, with more added throughout August. We’re rolling them out gradually so every new meal is ready without unnecessary waste.

No. New meals will come online progressively over August rather than all on one day. Look out for the NEW icon on our online store, or get in touch to find out what’s just been added.

Look for the NEW icon on our online store. New meals also come in our updated sugarcane tray with a film lid, and the label includes the meal name, heating instructions and nutrition information.

We’ve been working hard to improve the quality, variety and flavour of our meals, and to offer more choice for different dietary needs and preferences.

Some of our recipes have been updated, so a meal you love might taste a little different or use slightly different ingredients to what you’re used to. These changes have allowed us to offer more meals that suit a wider range of dietary needs, so more people can enjoy them safely.

  • Improved menu: We’ve refreshed our recipes to bring you even better quality and flavour, without compromising on nutrition. We have kept many of our customer favourites as well as introduced new options.
  • Meeting more dietary needs: We’re excited to now cater to a wider variety of dietary needs and preferences, including: Gluten free, dairy free, excellent source and good source of fibre, good source of protein, and Halal certified. This is in addition to our existing range of soft chew, vegetarian, and vegan. These dietary claims are based on specific nutrition standards, quantifiable (e.g. grams per serving), and help people make informed choices.
  • Packaging: We’re moving to sugarcane trays. They aren’t just more sustainable, they’re also both microwave and oven-safe, giving you more ways to heat and eat.
  • Our commitment to balanced, nutritional diets designed with health in mind. Our meals still meet our Magic 8 Nutrition Guidelines, which are in line with the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
  • Our emphasis on delicious and varied meals
  • Our friendly customer service team
  • Our focus on people with disability and older Australians
  • Our funding expertise for Support at Home and NDIS customers
  • Our seasonal menu launches that introduce new dishes for customers to try.

Meal plans

If you have a standing meal plan, we’ll manage the transition for you wherever possible, swapping outgoing meals for a new meal that’s as similar as possible in cuisine type, protein and allergens. Your meal plan may start to see these changes from Thursday, 6 August. We’ll let you know by SMS each week which items are being removed and what’s replacing them.

No problem. Once you’ve been told about an upcoming change, you have until the next order cut-off (Wednesdays at 5pm Sydney time) to get in touch and choose something else instead.

Our money-back guarantee

We’re offering a 100% money-back guarantee so you can try the new range with confidence. This can be redeemed once per customer. See full terms and conditions.

We’d love for you to give the new meals a try first. If you’re still not happy, remember our money-back guarantee is there for you.

Delivery

No. There are no changes to delivery days, drivers or how you’re notified about your order.

The meals

Our meals have a 12-month shelf life. A use-by date is printed on each meal label. Meals are freshly cooked and then snap-frozen to lock in quality.

All our meals are manufactured in Australia. Where possible, we follow an Australian-first sourcing policy for our ingredients. Each meal label includes a Country-of-Origin Statement declaring the percentage of the meal sourced from Australia.

Heating instructions vary slightly between items, so please always check the specific meal label. All meals are designed to be heated from frozen. If a meal has been defrosted, heating times will vary.

The batch code is near the use-by date and can be found on the meal label, under the NIP panel.

Please contact our team at [email protected] or 1300 123 225.

Packaging

We’re using a new sugarcane-based tray that’s designed to offer:

  • A lower environmental impact, made from renewable resources
  •  Biodegradable materials
  • Improved safety for hot foods

Approximately 90% of the tray’s weight comes from compostable sugarcane (bagasse), significantly reducing plastic use compared to traditional meal trays. The sealing film is made from CPET and should be disposed of in general waste. All meals can still be heated in both the oven and the microwave.

  • Compostable sugarcane-based trays
  • Clearer meal labelling
  • Improved presentation
  • Easier identification of meals in the freezer
  • Better consistency across the range
  • New ways to heat and eat: Our sugarcane packaging is both microwave and oven safe.

The tray is made from compostable sugarcane material but has a thin plastic lining. This lining ensures the tray is leak and grease resistant, provides structural strength, enables the meal to be heated correctly, and extends the shelf life.

If the lining is removed after the meal has been eaten, the tray can be placed in the green bin or composted at home. If the lining is not removed, the tray should go in general waste. The top film (CPET) must always be disposed of in general waste.

We’re working with our suppliers to continuously improve the environmental credentials of our meal trays.

Even with the lining, 90% of the tray’s weight is compostable sugarcane. This transition significantly reduces our overall plastic consumption and environmental impact compared to regular plastic meal trays.
